ARacer RC1 Super ECU Install

ARacer RC1 Super ECU Install

Installation of this ECU is fairly straightforward. This is a complete plug-n-play system.

Note: Flashing the base map is required for your year.

You will need a Windows-based computer and either the iLink cable or bLINK 2 module to flash the ECU and perform any type of change.

Parts we’re going to install:

  • 1x ARacer RC1 Super ECU
  • 1x 1-to-4 Extension Cable
  • 1x AF1 Module
  • 1x DG1 Module
  • 1x Wideband O2 sensor

Let’s get started!

Step 1) Remove Stock ECU

Assuming you already know how to take off your stock fairings and seat, all you need to do is locate your stock ECU and unplug it.

Step 2) Remove End Caps

Remove at least 1 of the plastic end caps on the 1-to-4 extension harness.

Step 3) Install RC1 Super ECU

Take your RC1 Super ECU and attach it to the stock ECU harness. Plug it in. On the RC1 Super ECU, there is a dongle that will mate to the 1-to-4 extension wire. Attach that as well. However you place the orientation of the harness is up to you.

Step 4) Install Wideband O2

Take the Wideband O2 sensor and place it into your exhaust. Route the wiring harness up towards the rear of the bike.

Step 5) Attach Wideband Harnesses

This plug is unique and attaches to another plug that will adapt it to the AF1 Module harness. Attach them together. The wideband harness must be connected directly to the battery terminal. Make sure there is ample space to do so.

Step 6) Install AF1 Module

Attach the Wideband O2 harness directly to the AF1 Module. There is only 1 plug of this type on the AF1 Module so you don’t have to worry about making a mistake.

Step 7) Connect AF1 Module to RC1 Super

There is another cable supplied with the AF1/DG1 Module kit. This cable will allow you to attach the AF1 to the 1-to-4 extension harness. It only goes in one way (female white plug).

Step 8) Connect DG1 Gauge to AF1 Module

The DG1 connects by using the harness that has 2 white end connectors. Again, it will only go on one way as they are MALE/FEMALE. Connect them in the correct orientation. During this time you should decide where you want to mount your DG1 gauge and run the wires through the bike accordingly.

Step 9) Finishing Touches

This is an example of how the cables, harness, and modules are mounted in the rear tail section.

Step 10) iLink Cable

There should be 1 plug on your 1-to-4 harness that you can gain access to easily. This is used for attaching the red iLink cable. You will have to remove another plastic end cap on the 1-to-4 harness to attach this plug. Run the cable to your computer and start up the software.

This concludes the installation of the RC1 Super ECU. From here onward, you will need to make changes and adjust the ECU parameters on your Window’s PC. In the RC1 Super ECU box, there is a black card with 2 serial numbers on them. These string of numbers is used for your license agreement to use the software. If you do not correctly input these serial numbers, you cannot use the software, therefore cannot make any changes.

When downloading the software from ARacer, you will need the SPEED TUNING SUPER v5.0. Click here to download.

WARNING: BEFORE YOU START YOUR BIKE, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENTERED THE CORRECT ENGINE AND INJECTOR PARAMETERS.

Please watch THIS video created by ARacer SpeedTek. It will tell you how to use the software. Although it is for the non-super ECU, there are similarities. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you get stuck.
